Hey There!

Welcome to Intrepid Mind Psychology.

The name "Intrepid Mind" captures ideas of bravery & courage, endurance and fortitude; strengths from which our minds will benefit. At Intrepid Mind Psychology, we want to foster these strengths to help overcome whatever challenges we may face.

Intrepid Mind Psychology is a private practice psychology service that offers face-to-face and telehealth services for individuals seeking mental health support. At this time we are taking bookings for adolescents and adults of all ages.

If you have any questions about our services, please feel free to email your enquiry to: kim@intrepidmindpsychology.com.au

Please note that at this time, there are appointments available only on Mondays.

Meet the owner: Kim Thompson

I'm Kim, the owner of Intrepid Mind Psychology.

While I have lived elsewhere in Australia and abroad, I am

originally an Albury local. I love exploring new places, trying

new things and consider myself an 'accidental gardener' (if the

plant grows, it's probably by accident!).

I started my psychology studies whilst living abroad, and achieved a Bachelor of Psychology degree (Honours) from Charles Sturt University, followed by a Master of Professional Psychology from La Trobe University.

I commenced my career as a psychologist in private practice with the wonderful team at Albury's Laneway Counselling.

I have a passion for working with people, and strong empathy for my clients. My approach is with kindness and is non-judgemental.

I am a registered psychologist, with an interest in:

  • Insomnia

  • Trauma

  • Anxiety

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

  • Depression

In my sessions with clients, I regularly use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and related therapies such as CBT for insomnia, Inference-based CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
